These tests may be used to monitor your condition or check for side effects. Be sure to keep all doctor and lab appointments. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to Augmentin effects. These patients may require a lower dose or/ and special monitoring during treatment. Augmentin should be used with great caution in children younger than 10 years old who have diarrhea or an infection of the stomach or bowel. Do not use Augmentin in children who weigh less than 88 lbs (40 kg), safety and effectiveness in these children have not been confirmed.
